David Musial is a multi-disciplined artist based in Melbourne.  Born of Polish and Anglo heritage, David’s curiosity of the artistic world grew from a young age.  The mysterious and tumultuous history of his family’s Eastern European heritage inspired wonder in David’s young mind.  His creative pursuits would eventually lead him as an adult on multiple cultural adventures that spanned from Helsinki to Moscow to Krakow and many in between.  Exploring galleries, exhibitions, David spent a semester at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn where he studied drawing and painting.  It was here he was introduced to charcoal photorealism by the Estonian Artist Mall Nukke.  Back at home, David received a commendation award at the Graeme Hildebrand Prize For Contemporary Artists with his drawing – ‘Lost In Translation’.  By this time David had achieved 2 bachelor degrees in Melbourne, his first for Film and TV and his second for Fine Arts.  Upon his graduation he painted a mural at the Melbourne F1 under the mentorship of Colombian Artist Julian Clavijo.  David has continued to collaborate with Julian on several murals throughout Melbourne.  An experienced filmmaker and photographer also, David’s art is constantly connected to the human form through light, perspective and frame.  His inspiration is drawn from his adventures and mysterious family history.  A professional with dedication to detail and a desire to create, David is an up and coming contemporary artist.
